JG Ingenieros has developed the engineering of facilities and construction management of the General University Hospital Santa Lucía de Cartagena,located in Murcia, Spain, with a total area of 94,370 m² for hospital and 20,000 m² of surface parking
The new complex is designed as a new hospital concept in which sports, commercial and leisure programs are integrated. The goal is for the city and its people to integrate into the hospital by developing a new concept of health prevention in the community. With a maximum capacity of 638 beds and 590 parking spaces, it serves in the surgical area, general medicine, intensive care, day hospital, emergency room, pediatric area, neonatology, gynecology, obstetrics, oncology, and all the services of a general hospital.
This hospital has been awarded in 2014 with the “International Award AADAIH – IHFE to the Architectural Quality in Healthcare Buildings“, by the International Federation of Hospital Engineering (IFHE).
