Barcelona Biomedical Research Center Park

JG Ingenieros has provided the MEP engineering and construction management service for the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park – PRBB, located on the seafront of the same city. The 57,866 m² and 36.5 m high building is one of the largest biomedical research centers in southern Europe and around 1,400 researchers can work on it simultaneously.

The PRBB is home to seven independent research entities, which are dedicated to research in the fields of human health, biomedicine, genomics, molecular biology, pharmacology, and clinical trials. The building includes the following services:

A 4,500 m² animal facility with capacity for 70,000 mice and 50,000 zebrafish and Xenopus frogs, one of the most complex and robotic in Europe; an auditorium for 250 people, offices, a gym, laboratories of various security levels, a PET Center (Positron Emission Tomography) and a Cyclotron Molecular Imaging Laboratory, which occupies about 1,400 m².
