JG Ingenieros has carried out the modification of the project of the “PEINETA” Olympic Stadium to adapt it to a sports venue dedicated to a football stadium (ATLETICO DE MADRID) called WANDA METROPOLITANO, with a total area of 180,000m² and 67,000 seats.
Initially, JG Ingenieros carried out in 2005 the facilities engineering service for the design of the extension and rehabilitation of the – Olympic Stadium of the Community of Madrid, “La Peineta”.
The project consisted of transforming a sports center into the Olympic stadium for Madrid’s bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.
The project of facilities and construction management of the expansion of the stadium has been developed from 2014 to 2017.
