First Q Spring Meeting held in Finland
First Q members gathered in the Lapland region to review the progress of the network, share business perspectives and discuss the main challenges facing the sector.
During the meeting, members presented a positive outlook for 2026. The combined workforce of First Q companies is expected to grow from 4,800 professionals in 2025 to 5,500 in 2026, through both organic and inorganic growth. Joint turnover is also expected to reach EUR 657 million, representing a 13% increase on the previous year, with particularly strong growth from Ethos in Ireland and Granlund in Finland.
The meeting also served to welcome Marian Cernovski, founder and CEO of MC General Construct, as the new First Q member in Romania. MC General Construct is an MEP consulting engineering company working across different building sectors in Romania and other European countries, with a team of 106 professionals.
The resignation of Manens, the Italian member of First Q, was also accepted, as the company was unable to maintain its commitment to the network after its First Q contact person left the company.
The activity of the different working groups of the network was also reviewed. JG Ingenieros coordinates the ESG group, led by Patricia Abrudan, which is working on a white paper featuring best practice case studies from different offices within the First Q network.
All members shared their current situation and outlook, which were fairly similar in most cases:
- Positive business prospects.
- Hospitals and data centres as leading project typologies.
- Difficulty finding new professionals for companies.
- The importance of a commercial attitude across the whole team.
- The balance between outsourcing and in-house teams.
- Active reflection on medium- and long-term structures.
During the meeting, the launch of a new major First Q event for all teams of the member companies was also approved. The event will take place this summer.
The next First Q meeting will take place in October in Denmark. Afterwards, JG Ingenieros will host the spring 2027 meeting in Barcelona.
