The OMBÚ building, awarded by the AEO

VIII Edition of the AEO Awards

On November 29th, the Spanish Association of Offices (AEO) presented the awards for the VIII Edition of the AEO Awards at an event held in Madrid, attended by nearly 200 professionals from the Spanish office real estate industry.

José María Álvarez, president of the AEO, welcomed the attendees and pointed out that, in the face of the sector’s transition, office assets continue to play a decisive role in shaping cities, their economic development, and a leading role in the strategy of companies.

Ignacio Varela, Political Analyst and Consultant, was the invited speaker for this edition and spoke about the “Current situation and prospects of Spanish politics.”

Javier Zarrabeitia, Senior Advisor to Merlin Properties and member of the AEO Board of Directors, served as the presenter and host of the Awards Ceremony.

In the “Best Refurbishment” category, the OMBÚ office building, owned by Acciona Inmobiliaria and designed by JG Ingenieros, was awarded. The jury for this category highlighted the perfect combination of sustainability, innovation, regeneration, and preservation of a iconic, protected, and disused building, giving it a new life.
