Renewal of the JG-UPC Chair agreement

On January 21st, we renewed our commitment to research and to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia for two years, providing the JG-UPC chair (for the study of sustainability in building engineering) with the necessary resources to continue its research.

These are developed along four main lines:

  1. Energy and comfort optimization of logistics warehouses using CFD (fluid dynamics simulation) tools validated in-situ; project carried out for the company Montepino Logística.
  2. CFD study of different air diffusion and decontamination systems in high biosafety laboratories; in line with the recent projects that JG is developing for the CSIC and the Carlos III Institute.
  3. Characterization of the circularity of construction materials, especially in installation systems, where very little information is available.
  4. Development of generative AI tools for the initial design of industrial buildings, with a special focus on data centers.

The JG-UPC chair is directed by Dr. Eva Cuerva, from ETSEIB, and has a monitoring committee made up of professors, experts and staff from JG: Eduard Egusquiza, Pere Esquerra and Pere Alavedra (ETSEIB), Andreu Arriola (ETSAB), María Salamero (COEIC), Albert Artús and Juan Gallostra (JG Engineers).
