Renewal of the JG-UPC Chair agreement
On January 21st, we renewed our commitment to research and to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia for two years, providing the JG-UPC chair (for the study of sustainability in building engineering) with the necessary resources to continue its research.
These are developed along four main lines:
- Energy and comfort optimization of logistics warehouses using CFD (fluid dynamics simulation) tools validated in-situ; project carried out for the company Montepino Logística.
- CFD study of different air diffusion and decontamination systems in high biosafety laboratories; in line with the recent projects that JG is developing for the CSIC and the Carlos III Institute.
- Characterization of the circularity of construction materials, especially in installation systems, where very little information is available.
- Development of generative AI tools for the initial design of industrial buildings, with a special focus on data centers.
The JG-UPC chair is directed by Dr. Eva Cuerva, from ETSEIB, and has a monitoring committee made up of professors, experts and staff from JG: Eduard Egusquiza, Pere Esquerra and Pere Alavedra (ETSEIB), Andreu Arriola (ETSAB), María Salamero (COEIC), Albert Artús and Juan Gallostra (JG Engineers).
