Improving energy efficiency in buildings

Heat recovery units with indirect evaporative cooling .

On the path toward energy and CO2 neutrality in buildings, there are many aspects to consider. One of the most important is reducing energy consumption associated with air conditioning equipment.

At JG Ingenieros, we are continually analyzing solutions to advance the path of energy efficiency, and today we present a study conducted to validate and quantify the effectiveness of heat recovery with a coupled indirect evaporative cooling system, compared to conventional heat recovery systems.

Focusing solely on the summer period, with the building in cooling mode, our conclusion is that the incorporation of indirect evaporative cooling systems improves the efficiency of heat recovery units by 26% in buildings in Madrid and by 130% in buildings in Barcelona.

We share with you the report that our colleagues  Marçal Molist and Albert Artús have prepared.
