Criticality of the BMS for functional testing

In data centers, the Building Management System (BMS) plays a crucial role in regulating the operation of the critical room’s climate control system.

The Building Management System (BMS) is often the last installation to be completed in buildings. This means that, in many cases, the BMS is not fully installed before building commissioning, and/or that improperly integrated installations and equipment are detected during the commissioning process.

Our colleagues, Miguel Javier Martín-Roldán Coello, Josep Gerard Pou Alzamora and Jordi Casajuana have prepared this article analyzing the importance of implementing the BMS prior to conducting functional tests in critical data center environments, and the potential implications for the commissioning process of not having these systems ready on time.
