Port of Barcelona – Cruise Terminal A

JG Ingenieros provided Architectural & Engineering services for the design and construction supervision of the Cruise Terminal “A” of the Port of Barcelona, Spain.

In view of the progressive increase of the number of cruise passengers transiting in Barcelona, Creuers del Port de Barcelona decided to expand the capacity of the former Terminal “A”, reason by which the old terminal was demolished, and it was decided to build a new one of 7,360 m2.

The new terminal incorporates the last requirements in terms of security, comfort and ensures that the embarking and disembarking of passengers and luggage is rapidly done.

The building with provided with a gangway with two fingers, 44 check-in points and four luggage conveyor belts.

The total investment done by Creuers del Port de Barcelona was of almost of 15 million euros. The new terminal is in accordance with ISPS regulations (International Ship and Port Security Code).
