JG Ingenieros has provided the comprehensive rehabilitation service of the Mapfre Tower office building facilities, in order to optimize its efficiency and sustainability as well as turn it into a state-of-the-art building.
The building consists of 39 floors above ground, of which 34 are intended for offices.
With a privileged location facing the sea, the Mapfre Tower is an emblematic building of Barcelona with its 154 meters high and 44,000 m² of offices.
In a first phase, the demolition of higher offices was carried out for their subsequent reform and implementation of the new facilities. The complexity of this project lay in the need to implement a new air conditioning system that coexisted with the existing system while the reforms were carried out gradually throughout the tower.
The necessary facilities have been designed for the building to acquire LEED GOLD certification.
